And so the time-honored tradition of paying more for less continues. The Audi R8 GT sits at the very top of the marque's supercar range. The usual R8 with a V10 weighs around 3,600 pounds. Thanks to a more liberal use of carbon fiber, the GT weighs 3,362. With 560 hp from its 5.2-liter engine, that's a power-to-weight ratio of six pounds per pony. So the sprint from standstill to 60 mph is over in only 3.6 seconds and top speed is 198.84 mph. Audi has just told us how much a GT will cost: $198,000. Just to add to the pain, only 333 examples will be built, with about 100 or so headed Stateside.
