The white elephant in the room.
There were gasps of surprise when VW announced it would make a second generation of its large luxury Phaeton sedan. Considering what a sales success the first generation wasn't. Apparently, the company is looking at the European and Chinese markets for the 2011 version at first, but there is talk of bringing it to America with a possible MSRP of $85,000. This brings to mind Einstein's definition of insanity: doing the same thing and expecting different results.
